Not bad but they do get hot easily so grab what you want quickly. The also fall apart if you wash them so be careful.I gave this 3 stars because for some reason silicone doesn't grip the handle. Every time I try to get a grip the silicone is slippery.They truly are heat-safe to 500°!I purchased these long, heat-safe oven gloves in a color that matches my dish towels last February. I normally do a lot of cooking and baking; during our covid-19 home stay this spring and summer even more. I bought these because I was tired of burning my arm when taking food out of the oven. They are extremely long and have protected me well. Now I know they withstand a lot of heat, and don't release toxic fumes if they should burn because I was careless. Last Friday I was using both the oven and stovetop of my electric stove to cook supper. I was tired after a long day, and used these gloves to remove what was in the oven, and something else that was on the burner. After removing that pot, I must have forgotten to turn off the burner, and left one oven glove on the stovetop. What I didn't realize was that I left it on the burner I failed to turn it off. Twenty+ minutes later I came back in the kitchen and saw the burner light was on, and the oven glove was lying across that burner. There was no smoke, just a faint smell. I saw the glove, turned off the burner, and turned over the glove. You can see the damage in the accompanying photos.While it's no longer useable, there was no disaster, no need to call the fire department and only the glove was ruined! I am so relieved, and tho' now I'll have 3 gloves, I am happily buying another pair. Thank you Redlmldeta!!!Wish they had a smaller size.These were well made, just a tad small for my personal preference. Also the color seems a little faded compared to the picture, but still acceptable.If you are serious cook, please buy these! Your arms and hands are protected in even highest heat. Silicone is heavy yet flexible. Pans are easily grabbed and retrieved from the oven. Would definitely gift and buy again!!After suffering through mitts that were too short, or didn't provide adequate heat protection, I decided to go for these - and am SO glad I did. They are quite long, and I usually just fold the end of the gauntlet for convenience. (For reference, I am female, 5' 5", average arm length.) BUT when I am working with a very hot oven (up to 450 so far) or a very heavy roasting pan (no such thing as a lightweight turkey in this household) I keep them unfolded as in the past reaching into my oven (cramped kitchen, little room to maneuver) has resulted in contact burns on my forearms...and a dropped roasting pan.....or two. Today I baked a loaf of rustic bread in a heavy, covered ceramic baker with no fear, no incident....and no broken crockery. They are so far superior to my silicon mitts as regards heat protection and coverage area that I have gotten rid of the other mitts. I am seriously considering getting second pair to keep on hand - because, in this household, we have learned through experience that when you find just the right thing, you'd better get another one before they are no longer available.I wanted to love these gloves. The aqua color is nice, as is the pattern, and they were fairly comfortable. What ruined it for me is the lining. I bought these specifically looking for a 100% cotton lining and the description deceptively made it sound like that's what I'd be getting. Unfortunately, what arrived were gloves that had a 100% polyester label on them. No cotton in sight. The poly terry lining felt very cheap, the kind that snagged on every little bit of raised skin on my hands. It definitely felt uncomfortable. I could also tell it would pill very easily. I had to return them. I found many other options that had an all cotton liner. I tried several and the best were the MASTER QUEEN Silicone Oven Mitts. The gloves were more flexible than these and the liner was smooth, quilted cotton that felt great against my skin. Best of all, they were more than half the price less.I have tried using these gloves to carry cast iron pot for my sourdough bread. As sourdough bread is baked at relatively high temperature of about 250 degree C, these gloves can withstand the high temperature and prevent your hands from being burnt. They are also long enough to prevent the fore-arms from being burnt when removing the hot cast iron pot from the oven.I am very happy with my purchase and I would highly recommend these heat resistant gloves to anyone who bakes!I bought a set of these pot holders which came in a pack of 3. These pot holders are very convenient and I can just slip one on in my left hand to hold the handle of a cast-iron frying pan or casserole while I can stir or fry with my right hand.Also, I left a pair near my toaster oven which I can use them to remove small baking trays without having to put on clumsy thick gloves. They are easy to use and are not bulky.Highly recommended!These silicone mitts had the highest rating that I could find temperature wise, and are long enough to protect the forearms. You definitely feel protected, they are not flimsy like the ones you buy in the store, and look great! Best pair that we have owned, and would definitely buy again.Like the gloves. Have only used them once, but they appear to be as described.Best thing since sliced sourdough bread. Life saver!!!!!
