Basics: Soft cover, 461 pages, at $57 seems more expensive than when I bought my five copies. Ghurras were and are still in use in Nepal. They hold a round shaft with an impeller on the end, tied to another post, and a wrap of hide or rope to spin the shaft to make butter out of milk. Buy the book or try Goggle to see a photo of one in action. The Ghurras could be just a block of wood, but are usually carved by the user in any number of incredible designs, including humans and animals, geometric, knots, etc. For someone wanting to collect a fairly low-priced, authentic, item, the book will be the entry into what to look for and why. Recommended.
